Can anyone give me some info on bunnies?

i want to get a bunny as a pet and for FFA. i would like to get a mini lop. my mom is deathly allergic to rabbits though so it has to stay outside. so i need to know if its ok for me to keep outside. and i would like to know how much all of this is going to cost me; vet bills, neuter, hutch etc... can anyone help me with this?
