Is this normal for a couple?

last nite my bf and i were talkng about whn we would get our own place...and he said that wen we did, it was just gonna be his name on the lease, not mine and i have nothing to worry about. he also said that he wants everything in his name cause thats how his parents r..we've been dating fo 3yrs now, and all tho it maybe another year or 2 before we get our own place (waiting to finish school and find stable jobs), shold i be concerned?
