Anyone knows title of these two movies?

on the 2nd one if that was the one with bill pullman he didn't die. hes trying to find a way to get in that dimension to be with the woman. he has a machine that keeps throwing pieces of ice on it til one day it goes through. he runs toward and just after he is in, the doorway closes and the place disappears. but the people he's with now are not the people he thought. they are some creatures that look like humans and though didn't show it, with their big teeth like that on V, are going to eat him.
