What are some good open source speech to text programs?

What I'd really like is some sort of program that would allow you to take a .wav file and convert it to text instead of just being able to record via microphone in real time. I know Microsoft Office has some sort of speech recognition software, but I don't use Microsoft Office, I use Open Office. So I'd prefer an open source or free ware speech to text program, but if you don't know of any and can point me to one that is pretty cheap I might go that route. Thanks for the help.

What can I do to learn to play the Ukulele?

I started out as just some guy who liked to write music and could sing pretty well. Now I sing three nights a week at a local coffee shop and I have booked a few solo gigs on the town. My buddies sister plays guitar for me right now but she is admittedly a horrible teacher. I haven’t played an instrument since the sax in high school and I really want to learn to play the Ukulele. Anyone have any suggestions? Computer programs, books or anything. I don’t know if there is a significant difference between a guitar and a ukulele. I tried some of the local music schools but none specifically focus on Uku's. I love the sound and the type of atmosphere they create and they could compliment the songs I sing. My formerly favorite favorite local radio station, KTRH in Houston, used to be all news and instructional talk (gardening, home repair, consumer affairs), but recently has drifted into the all-right-wing-all-the-time format, except for a brief period of news in the morning and the welcome respite of Astros baseball games. This development appears to have come on the heels of the acquisition of KTRH by Clear Channel Communications. Ok so i fell in love wih a girl 3 years ago (3 years ago she also fell in love with me but thought that i was dating someone else), i revealed my feelings to her last week. Mold...Lease-what rights do I have as a tenant?

3 wks ago I called my landlord about black mold growing on my bathroom ceiling above my toilet. I suggested it may be from tenant above me, perhaps a leak from his toilet or plumbing, considering location (mold was growing under where his toilet sits.) My landlord came, swiped it w/ bleach, said that it wasnt from a leak and basically insinuated that it was my fault for not keeping the bathroom properly ventilated. I contemplated breaking my lease, but decided to wait it out. The mold is starting to slowly grow back in spots, the drywall itself is dry rotted. Today I noticed when walking out the door, that the carpet in my entryway was sopping wet! I called slumlord again, upon his inspection, he said that the above tenant's hot water heater had burst, (as I suspected) resulting in leaking water running down my walls, drenching my carpet. He said to just run the air conditioning (its 30degrees out) and it "should work itself out."

The problem is that I enrolled in school to learn how to become a better person in terms of thinking and attitude towards life and school expects us to do our own work. So when we do our "own" work reading from text book and online, seems ot be the way to go as long as we reference or use academic material. How about asking your TA and Prof? Hi, I was just wondering...I live in southern CT and I have IO digital cable from Cablevision. I hate Cablevision...I like the DVR...but I think a TV should be entertaining and user-friendly...Cablevision isn't, I've used friends' at&t U-Verse and Comcast TV's and the software looks cool and is easy to use and fun. Cablevision is very plain and boring...it seems really obsolete. Anyway, I don't think I will end up changing to at&t (Which I think looks the best) and Comcast isn't available in my area. Do you think that I should stick it out with Cablevision and see if they ever change, or switch now and risk missing out. I need advice. Wow such big problems for little shoulders to bear . Let me tell you about me . I never knew my father . I did found him about 10 yrs after he had died in a car wreck . I found out he died 3 days after I went to prison . In October of of 1992 I had a friend die in a car wreck . For the next six months I lost someone once or twice a month till my grandfather died in march of '93 . 8 friends died before him . His was the last funeral I have gone to . I know how you feel . I have never been as close to anyone as I was my grandfather . Just because I am afraid of losing then again . That is what I thought . A few yrs later a young lady came in to my life and ask me to be the dad to her child . That was 6 kids ago . I will never be a father but I am a loving dad . My kids are 15,15, 13,13 , 3 and 2 . The last being the only boy in the bunch 2 moms and six kids who know I love them all more than their fathers ever will . I also have 12 godchildren . I can say God has had a plan for me all along just as he does you . You just have to hang in there and find out what it is . Also have to remember just when you think you have no one to turn to .... you have us . Time will heal your heart but the memories will always be there for you . As for mom and brother TALK TO THEM let them know you need them and need to talk and if mom can't find the time force her hide the car keys until she does talk to you . I am trying to decide between three guitars. One is the Fender Standard Strat. The other two are the squier standard strat and the squier Affinity strat. The price is important. The fender is $400. Ok this is probably more my fault than my dogs. Maybe I should say whats wrong with my dog and I? I have a combination bulldog/mastiff a year old. He is the most stubborn dog I have ever encountered. I need to spend more time with him, but basically he listens sometimes when he wants too. At times he will get so hyper and want to play that he thinks I'm his play toy. I have never tried to encourage this behavior at all, but he was given to me very young like 5 weeks old so he didnt receive the training from his mom. The mom was too young to have him and had to be removed for her own safety case she was too young and weak to be a mom and she had like 10 pups. Anyhow, i guess my dog has an issue distinguishing who is the human and who is teh dog and when to listen. I have taught him to sit, but sometimes he will get in a mood when he is hyper and when I say sit he wont, he will play and try to jump on me or play tug with my hand!!

Ok, first of all I've only smoked weed once. This was back when I was 12, I'm currently 18. Now, when I smoked weed for the first time, I went into it with no fears and good intentions. I took 6 strong hits from a blunt and then got horrible cottonmouth. Put it this way, I was so high that I started breathing like an idiot. I was inhaling and swalloing the air. XD. My childs hospital social worker called DCFS because she had missed several appointments due to my own health problems and the fact that I don't drive and rely on public transportation which..in my area isnt very reliable. How do I repair big cracks in a fibergl tub?

I have seen this before and there is a solution. First you need to know what the original problem is and how that can be fixed. When they told you that the tub was not laid down properly that was close to being correct but probably not completely so. The problem is that it was a cheap tub to begin with. The better tubs have a combination foam and fibergl base molded into them so that the amount of weight on them does not matter. Your tub clearly does not have that structure as indicated by the weak spots. this can be corrected in two ways. First , if possible gain access to the underside of the tub by cutting a hole in the sheet rock wall behind the tub just above the base board. The hole needs to be large enough to see into the area under the tub and then reach in with a can of spray foam and spray the whole can of foam into the space under the tub. This will take several cans of spray foam, maybe 3 or 4 or 5. When spraying the foam you have to reach in as far as you can and spray the foam in a manner that fills up the entire space under the tub. It is important to use a foam the expands as it cures. You may have to make a couple of holes in the sheet rock to gain the access you need. Now if you can't gain access to the area under the tub through a wall you have to drill several holes in the tub and spray the foam into the area under the tub to create the support structure you need. Obviously your repair guy will have to patch those holes. Frankly I think your repair guy was trying to do the repair on the cheap. I have seen this repair before and it usually costs more than $200.00. Your repair guy did as little as possible and said a prayer as he left your place that some miracle would happen and the leak would be stopped. As it stands he over charged you for what he did. Trying to fix it yourself is hard as you are not likely to be able to get the materials you need to do it well Fixing holes you drill is hard. The stuff they sell in the home center is not that great unless you are very experienced in using that stuff. There are companies who know how to do this well and if you can find one of those it is worth the money. If your original repair guy can't fix it get your money back. As far as being stressful get used to that and arguing. Make believe your married to the repair person and you just found out he made a p at your best friend.

See I did not know you had to deauthorize the computer before sending it off to repair. i cant viw video files on my psp 2000. i have connected it to my pc and there is a folder named MP_ROOT. in it is two folders 100MNV01 and 101ANV01. i use format factory and set the output to psp 368x208 MPEG4. when the are formated theres a thm file and a mp4 file i put the thm in the 100MNV01 and the mp4 in 101ANV01 and vice versa still no luck. . . help please

Every policy that I have had required me to take a full physical before I would be covered too.
